National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR) is an association of over 3,300 attorneys and paralegals who represent Social Security and Supplemental Security Income claimants. NOSSCR members are committed to providing high quality representation for claimants, to maintaining a system of full and fair adjudication for every claimant, and to advocating for beneficial change in the disability determination and adjudication process.

Legal Services of New York (LSNY) provides free legal help in civil matters (non-criminal) to low-income people. LSNY's core practice areas are: family, housing, benefits, consumer, and education law. LSNY responds to legal needs that may be particular to a group of people, a neighborhood, or a period of time. In addition, several LSNY offices have special projects for the elderly, victims of domestic violence, immigrants, students, and people with HIV.

The Greater Upstate Law Project, Inc. (GULP) is a non-profit legal resource center providing technical assistance to local legal services programs and other community groups in New York State. GULP engages in policy analysis and legislative and administrative advocacy and undertakes impact litigation as necessary to protect, defend and enforce the rights of poor and low income New Yorkers.

Neighborhood Legal Services (NLS) provides free legal services to persons with low-income and persons with disabilities in the Buffalo area. It also provides a wide range of technical assistance and support services.

The New York State Bar Association is the official statewide organization of the legal profession. It is composed principally of practicing attorneys, judges, law teachers, and many non-practicing lawyers who are business executives, government officials, court administrators and so forth. It represents practitioners in specialized areas of law, as well as affiliated, law-related organizations and groups with special interests or needs.

Community Legal Services, Inc. helps low-income Philadelphia residents with legal problems by providing them with advice and representation in civil matters.
